Private Paint Party FAQs

What is a private paint party?

A private paint party is an event that you host at your house or other venue that you secure. Only guests who you invite will be allowed to attend.

Can I schedule my party during the week?

I’m currently holding private paint parties only on Saturdays. Please refer to the Paint Party Schedule for available dates and times. If one of the Saturdays on the calendar doesn’t work for you, then please let me know and we’ll try to work something out.

How far do you travel for a private paint party?

At this time I’m only accepting requests in the Virginia Beach area. I may include other cities in the future without notice.

How long is a typical private paint party?

I schedule parties for a minimum of three (3) hours. Depending on the size of the party, I’ll need at least 30-60 minutes before everyone arrives to setup. I’ll then need some time afterwards to pack up everything.

How much does it cost to host a private paint party?

When you schedule your party, you’ll select up to three (3) items for you and your guests to paint and assemble. The cost per person depends on which project they choose and pay for in advance.

As a host, do I need to provide anything?

You’ll need to make sure everyone has a place to spread out their project pieces and room to paint (i.e., tables and chairs). I’ll bring the necessary supplies (e.g., paint, brushes, glue, embellishments, etc.) required to complete each project.

Is there a minimum number of people to have a private paint party?

Yes. A minimum of five (5) paying guests, including the hostess/host, is required to have a private paint party.

How much notice is needed to schedule a private paint party?

The amount of time needed depends on the number of paying guests.

5-10 paying guests = a minimum of three (3) weeks; two(2) weeks for your guests to choose and pay for their items and one (1) week for me to finalize all preparations.

11-20 paying guests = a minimum of five (5) weeks; 2.5 weeks for your guests to choose and pay for their items and 2.5 weeks for me to finalize all preparations.

If more than 20 paying guests will be in attendance, a suitable timeframe will need to be determined and agreed upon prior to scheduling your event.

How do I schedule a private paint party?

To request a date, please first look at the Paint Party Schedule, then fill out and submit the Private Paint Party Request Form. You should receive a response within 24-36 hours to confirm if any of the dates you requested are still available.

How do I know which projects I can choose?

Click here to see the available design options. They will change throughout the year without notice. This, however, will not impact your party if you’ve already chosen your items.

How do my guests and I pay for our projects?

After your party has been confirmed, I’ll send you a link to your Party Page. This link will include the date and time of your party and the projects you and your guests can choose from. To pay for the project, click on the item, add to your cart, and follow the steps for payment. This link will be closed 1-2.5 weeks prior to your party so I can finalize all preparations.

Is there anything my guests need to know before coming over?

They need to make sure to wear something they won’t mind getting paint or glue on should something happen.

What if I need to reschedule my private paint party?

In the event you need to reschedule your confirmed party, all payments will be applied to the new date.

If the party needs to be rescheduled a second (2nd) time, then a 15% fee will be applied to all guests’ orders and will need to be collected before your party.

If a third (3rd) rescheduling is needed, then all party cancellation refund policies will apply.

What happens if My Craft House has to reschedule my party?

If, for any reason, My Craft House needs to reschedule your private paint party, you’ll be given the following options:

  • reschedule your party and all payments will be applied to the new date. Due to inconveniencing you and your guests, everyone will receive a 10% discount on the base price of their paid project (i.e., pre-tax). In addition, the prices on your Party Page will be adjusted for those guests who haven’t chosen their project yet.

  • cancel your party and not reschedule. All payments will be refunded.

What if some of my guests already paid, but can’t attend?

A minimum of five (5) paying guests is still required to hold a private paint party. If some of your guests can’t make it to your party, they’ll be given the option to either

  • pickup their unpainted project from you (limited paint colors, a brush and glue will be provided) OR

  • choose a 30% refund if their project has already been cut AND I’m notified prior to your Party Page link being closed. NO refunds will be provided if their project was personalized or I’m notified after your Party Page link is closed. OR

  • choose a 100% refund if their project has not yet been cut AND I’m notified prior to your Party Page link being closed. NO refunds will be provided if I’m notified after your Party Page link is closed.

What if I have someone last minute who wants to come to my party?

If your Party Page link is still open, then share it with them and encourage them to choose and pay for their project before the link is closed.

If your Party Page link is already closed, please notify My Craft House as soon as possible via email at MyCraftHouse@mycrafthouseva.com and/or text/call 757-716-4326. All efforts will be made to accommodate your guest, but may not be possible depending on how much notice is provided.

What if I need to cancel my private paint party?

Should you need to cancel your confirmed paint party and not reschedule, the following refund policies will apply:

  • If you cancel and/or reschedule your party for a third (3rd) time anytime between your confirmation date and the time needed to finalize all preparations (see How much notice is needed to schedule a party?), then all guests who have paid for a project will receive a 20% refund minus any rescheduling fee. NO refund will be given on any personalized items already cut.

  • If you cancel during the time needed to finalize all preparations (see How much notice is needed to schedule a party?), then NO refund will be provided.

What if I decide to reschedule my party after refunds have been processed?

You and your guests will be required to pay the full price of your new projects. Project selection will be determined by current offerings at the time.
